LA’s MoCA gala gets goat but no James Franco

It was difficult for LA’s Museum of Contemporary Art gala to top last year’s Marina Abramovic extravangaza including naked volunteers. The event to launch an Urs Fischer exhibition featured the USC marching band, a petting zoo with baby goats and a set by the Go-Go’s, reports The Post’s Richard Johnson. James Franco was supposed to appear as MoCA director Jeffrey Dietch and give a speech, but didn’t show. Another actor impersonated the art insider instead. The gala was a family affair. Hard Rock billionaire Peter Morton arrived with daughter Grace, 18, while Peter Brant and Stephanie Seymour brought son Harry, 16. Restaurateurs Michael and Eva Chow were with daughter China. Also spotted was Ellen Pompeo, Owen Wilson, Haim Saban, Ari Emanuel, Eli Broad, Stavros Niarchos, Tony Shafrazi and Larry Gagosian — who reps Fischer and generously sponsored the evening.
