New York Times’ Jill Abramson finds strength in The Post’s horoscope

New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson took comfort in The Post after Politico’s scathing “Turbulence at the Times” profile called her “very, very unpopular.” Slate’s Hanna Rosin reached out to Abramson for a reaction, and the Timeswoman told her she’d turned to Sally Brompton. “I began the morning, as I always do, reading my horoscope (I’m Pisces) in The New York Post,” Abramson replied in an e-mail. “Here is what it says, ‘You will need to put on a brave face today, especially if you get news that seems to be the opposite of what you were hoping to hear. The important word there is ‘seems,’ because most likely it IS good news after all.’ ” Abramson added: “I read it aloud at our morning news meetings.” We’re happy to help.
