As Jay Z prepares for two landmark homecoming gigs in his Magna Carter World Tour at the Barclays Center starting Sunday – a bizarre 1997 video of the mogul being interviewed next to two women having sex has been unearthed.
A then 28-year-old Jay, looking slightly awkward, is seen sitting on a couch next to two women engaging in hardcore lesbian sex as he is interviewed by 2 Live Crew mastermind Luther Campbell.
The distracting interview reportedly took place 17 years ago, around the time of the release of Jay’s second album “In My Lifetime, Vol 1,” and years before he met now-wife Beyonce.
In what is possibly his strangest interview ever, Jay attempts to discuss his music but just stumbles over his words as the women continue in their intimate act right next to him.
Campbell, meanwhile, remains nonchalant and sips from a bottle of Hennessey.
According to music site Consequence of Sound, the NSFW video “says a lot about how far we’ve come in just 15 years: many argue that hip-hop is still hypersexualized, but if a rapper like Kendrick Lamar or ASAP Rocky appeared in something like this today, the blowback would be intense and their career probably derailed.”
