Oscar de la Renta may have broken off negotiations with John Galliano, but the 81-year-old legend is still looking to strike up a partnership with another top designer to join the company as a creative director.
Names that have come up include Olivier Theyskens of Theory and Prabal Gurung. Jason Wu has also been mentioned as an ideal match, but he recently was hired as creative director of Hugo Boss.
Page Six exclusively reported last week that Galliano, who post-rehab took up temporary residence at de la Renta, would not be taking a permanent job at the studio after talks failed over the money that would be needed to finance Galliano’s own atelier.
A rep for de la Renta didn’t get back to us.
