Oscar voters mingled with stars on both coasts ahead of the nominations deadline, but “Nebraska” star Bruce Dern says he’s happier in the heartland.
He told us at a Paramount lunch, “When they talk about ‘the flyover states,’ well, [bleep] you.”
Dern added, “There’s something there that isn’t necessarily there in the rest of the country . . . they’re fair and they’re honest and forthright, and they call it like they see it.”
Martin Scorsese, Leo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill were also honored for “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
