Another day, another fitness craze-related scandal.
The union that gave birth to Barry’s Bootcamp has gone kaput, according to TMZ.
Rachel Mumford, 43, has filed for divorce from husband John Mumford, 58 — who ponied up the cash to set up the popular fitness operation — citing irreconcilable differences.
While that may sound pretty standard, things get a lot more lurid from there. Rachel also got a restraining order against her soon-to-be ex, claiming that he’s a violent, pill-popping boozer.
According to the website, the couple reached their breaking point last month in Paris, when John allegedly threw Rachel against the wall of their hotel room before attempting to smother her because of a text message.
The couple has been together since 1997 and has two children together. Rachel is seeking custody of the kids.
Barry’s Bootcamp, which counts Kim Kardashian, Amanda Seyfried and Jake Gyllenhaal among its clientele, was established in 1998, and has gone on to be a remarkable success, with locations across the globe.
