Schrager unveiling 215 Chrystie project to select group

Hotelier and real estate developer Ian Schrager is showing off his latest project at 215 Chrystie St. to brokers beginning Wednesday.

The building’s designed by Herzog & de Meuron — known for creating the Olympic Bird’s Nest Stadium in Beijing and the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill as well as Schrager’s 40 Bond St.

The new site includes a 370-room hotel as well as 11 “full-floor and half-floor apartments” with interiors by John Pawson.

Schrager’s team tells us he’s “personally hand-picked an exclusive list of people invited to see the apartments” and, “not since Studio 54 has something been so hard to get into.” (The price of admission will certainly be greater.)

The project’s being billed as “refined gritty.”
