Sherri Shepherd’s surrogate gave birth in Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
It’s the latest development in the ongoing baby drama between Shepherd, 47, and her estranged husband, Lamar Sally, 43, reports TMZ.
“The View” co-host was not present at the birth, but Sally was. It’s not clear what role, if any, Shepherd will have in the baby’s life.
Sally filed legal papers in July to prevent the new Broadway actress from backing out of the “surrogate contract.” Shepherd says she was defrauded into signing the contract so she could pay him child support.
A judge has yet to decide who will have custody of the child (Sally has requested full custody).
The two split up in May after three years of marriage.
Since the divorce filing, Shepherd has had to endure another custody battle with her first husband, Jeff Tarpley, over their son Jeffrey Jr. A judge decided she should maintain physical custody of the boy, despite Tarpley’s accusations.
