Russell Brand and Katy Perry allegedly met over the weekend for the first time since Brand filed for divorce on Dec. 30, a report says.

A source tells The Mirror that the former couple planned a sit-down at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where Perry is allegedly staying. According to the source, the two supposedly had very different reasons for wanting to talk.

As for Brand, the source claims, “He has agreed to meet her one last time. He wants to sort things out and finalize the divorce. He needed to be in LA for the Globes, too, so it was an ideal opportunity to meet. He is determined to move on.”

However, the source alleges that Perry’s motivation was a reconciliation.

“Katy says she is still in love with him,” the source claims. “She still has hopes they might get back together.”

Meanwhile, Radar Online reports that Brand has rented and moved into a $2 million Hollywood Hills home, to begin his life apart from Perry. The British comedian was seen dining solo at Boa Steakhouse on Saturday night, a restaurant near the new home.

On Sunday, Brand stepped out for a Television Critics Association panel to promote his TV show, “Strangely Uplifting,” which will air on FX in April.

When asked how he was doing, Brand told People, “Quite well, thank you. Are you asking because of recent events? You are making the mistake of seeing time as linear. The brilliant American author Kurt Vonnegut, he’ll tell you that if you imagine reality as experienced simultaneously, events become redundant.”

When asked if he was happy, Brand responded, “Yes, I am.”
