Obama’s nifty trick to arrive on time

Maybe notoriously tardy Mayor de Blasio could learn about punctuality from President Obama.

When the Commander in Chief gathered with a couple dozen real estate and environmental heavy hitters Wednesday at the InterContinental Times Square Hotel, Jim Grant — better known as Lee Child, author of the Jack Reacher novels — noticed that the president’s watch was 10 minutes fast.

Obama explained that even though it has been set 10 minutes fast for more than a decade, the trick still jolts him and reminds him that he is close to running late.

I’m betting first lady Michelle is a fan of his trick.

Natural Resources Defense Council chairman Dan Tishman (who built the hotel, as well as 1 World Trade Center) and his wife Sheryl hosted such guests as Dan’s father John Tishman, Douglas Durst, Hal Fetner, Jeff Gural, hedge funder Jim Simons and FDR’s granddaughter Kate Whitney with her husband Frank Thomas, longtime CEO of the Ford Foundation.
