Cosmo editor-in-chief looking to expand her TV presence

Joanna Coles has her sights on television.

The Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief has been making the rounds with TV executives after being approached by several production companies to do a reality show based on her glam life.

Coles appeared as a mentor on “Project Runway” when she was the editor of Marie Claire, and starred in the Style Network reality show “Running in Heels,” which profiled Marie Claire’s tony Hearst Tower offices.

Media insiders say feisty Coles wants to further expand her brand to television, lending her expertise to fashion and business. Others believe she’s also got her sights on a higher role.

“Joanna’s taking meetings with TV executives to transition into a behind-the-scenes-type role, perhaps in development,” one source told us.

But a rep for Coles explains: “Joanna has been approached by various media outlets keen to get her to do more with Cosmo both on-screen and behind the scenes. She’s having an absolute blast running the world’s biggest magazine brand and has no plans to leave.”
