A manuscript by a private school parent about the cutthroat admissions world of posh kindergartens has been making the rounds and gaining interest from publishers. Billed as a nonfiction “The Devil Wears Prada” meets “The Nanny Diaries,” the book’s set against the backdrop of the high-stakes application process during which parents compete to get kids into $40,000-a-year programs with competitive interviews, “meet-and-greets” and recommendation letters. One editor says the tell-all could be “a private school’s worst nightmare.” The tome’s said to be written by “an anonymous parent whose kid applied to Dalton, Horace Mann, Ethical Culture and others.” No word on where the tyke wound up.
