Tireless Mayor Bloomberg stopped at Bistro Le Steak on the Upper East Side for sustenance in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy Tuesday, and he cheered up fellow diners. “He was in good spirits,” said a spy. “People were telling him he’s doing a great job.” Another source explained there was “a younger crowd” at Bloomberg’s regular haunt, and when a table of young women asked him to take a quick picture with them, he happily obliged, even sitting at their table. “The mayor is always a gentleman — he talks to everyone,” a regular informed us. As Bloomberg headed into the night at about 9:30 p.m., one Park Avenue resident was seen thanking him, and he shot back, “Thank you!” All seemed shocked to see Hizzoner, who is busy managing the city’s recovery. “Bloomberg stole our table but s’cool,” tweeted one gal. A gobsmacked guest visiting from Dublin and stranded thanks to the storm tweeted, “Whacky and weird trip to NYC capped by having dinner right beside Mayor Bloomberg at Bistro Le Steak on the Upper East Side.”
