Just after we’d heard Russian president Vladimir Putin was spotted in Marrakech for an on-the-down-low wedding of his daughter Yekaterina, a host of Hollywood heavyweights is descending on the historic Moroccan city for the Marrakech International Film Festival. Expected at this year’s fest — which began last night with a tribute to French actress Isabelle Huppert — are “Noah” director Darren Aronofsky, “The Silence of the Lambs” director Jonathan Demme, Gemma Arterton and Melanie Laurent. Movies screening include David O. Russell’s Oscar-buzzed “Silver Linings Playbook” and “The Flowers of War,” starring Christian Bale.
