After battling a severe form of morning sickness, the Duchess of Cambridge stunned during her first public appearance at BBC’s annual Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

If it’s a sign of maternity wear to-come, the royal mom-to-be did not disappoint. She looked ravishing in an emerald green Alexander McQueen gown with a modest slit at the front. Kate paired her retro-glam gown with Black Jimmy Choo heels, glittering circle earrings and her signature loose waves.

Smiling ear to ear, the Duchess presented Sebastian Coe, the chairman of the London Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games, the Lifetime Achievement Award. She also honored cyclist Bradley Wiggins with the Sports Personality of the Year trophy. Although she didn’t formally speak, she shared a few words with the honorees.

It was an appropriate event for the Duchess to reappear after her being hospitalized for three nights for hyperemesis gravidarum. Kate and husband Prince William had cheered on the sidelines for Team Great Britain at the London Olympics and Paralympics this year.

She had not been seen in public since the apparent suicide of a nurse at King Edward VII Hospital who was the victim of a prank call by two DJs from an Australian radio show.

Palace officials have said that the Duchess is 12 weeks pregnant.
