The Rolling Stones have been throwing rather tame after-parties at The Carlyle hotel following their concerts. The rockers, who are now mostly sober, held a bash at the posh hotel’s penthouse Thursday night, but it was a far cry from the drug-dilated and booze-bloated blowouts colorfully described in Keith Richards’ autobiography, “Life.” Guests at the party included Mick Jagger and girlfriend LWren Scott, Ronnie Wood and fiancée Sally Humphreys, Mick’s daughter Jade Jagger, Dave Grohl and Richards’ wife, Patti Hansen. A source told us of the gathering after the band played Newark’s Prudential Center: “It was a pretty laid-back party. [Drummer] Charlie Watts left before midnight, but he’s 71.” To be fair, the Stones had earlier played an energetic show that lasted more than two hours, with an impressive, 22-song set list and appearances from former bandmate Mick Taylor and John Mayer. Last night, they were back at the Prudential Center, with guest appearances by Lady Gaga and Bruce Springsteen.
