Justin Timberlake returns to music: ‘I’m ready’

Those clamoring for more “LoveSounds” won’t have to wait much longer.

Justin Timberlake, who’s been extremely busy doing everything except for making music lately, tweeted an intriguing hint.

“To whom it may concern…I think I’M READY! #JT2013,” he wrote and directed fans to a short clip of himself walking into a recording studio.

Via voiceover, the former boybander explains the delay of new music. “Somebody asked me the other day, ‘Are you just done with music?’ It means more to me than anybody else in the world. Look. I’ve only done two albums in ten years. That’s the way I really look at it. What does the next decade mean for me? I’m the one who sits in – is obsessive about it before you even get to hear it.”

He continues, “As close as I get to it, I don’t know that I could physically torture myself that much year in and year out, and expect it to fulfill me the way that it does and the way that it is right now. I don’t want to put out anything that I feel like is something that I don’t love. You just don’t get that every day. You have to wait for it.”

As the monologue concludes, Timberlake enters a vocal booth and steps up to a microphone and says, “I’m ready.”

Since the September 2006 release of Timberlake’s sophomore solo album “FutureSex/LoveSounds,” he’s kept himself very busy.

We’ve seen him flex his comedic skills on “Saturday Night Live” and also in seven films, most notably portraying Sean Parker in “The Social Network” and starring with Mila Kunis in “Friends With Benefits.” He’s also involved with the relaunch of Myspace, where he is creative director and a minority investor.

And of course, the multi-hyphenate squeezed in some semblance of a private life when he married actress Jessica Biel in October after five years of dating.
