The film adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey” won’t be released until 2015, but star Jamie Dornan has already tired of a key plot point: tying knots.

“There are a couple of classic knots I know now,” the actor, 31, told the Guardian in an interview on Monday, “and I’ve put them to good use far too many times recently. In fact I’d like to do a job where I don’t have to tie women to beds.”

But as anyone who’s read the E L James-written source material knows, plenty of rope work is required of the actor, who was cast to play Christian Grey after Charlie Hunnam unexpectedly dropped out of the picture last fall. (How else is he going to bind Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia Steele for all their consensual S&M play?)

Making matters worse for the former Calvin Klein model is his other current project: playing serial killer Paul Spector in the hit BBC crime drama, “The Fall.” The role also requires some knot-play but this time, it’s not for fun — it’s for murder.

With his schedule all tied up, the actor, who married musician Ameilia Warner and became a father for the first time last year, is ready for a little down time.

“Right now I don’t need to work if there’s nothing that I want to do,” he said. “I’ve done three jobs back to back. Let’s see how they are received. If there’s nothing I want to do, I’ll just play golf and change [diapers].”
