Paris Jackson’s brother cancels TV appearance after sister’s suicide attempt

Prince Michael Jackson has canceled a scheduled appearance on a German TV show in order to stay close to his younger sister, Paris Jackson, after her attempted suicide.

According to People, the late King of Pop’s eldest son was set to appear on the popular game show “Wetten, dass …? (Wanna Bet?)” but opted out after hearing of his sister’s hospitalization.

Prince Michael, 16, was set to fill in for his 15-year-old sister, who was originally booked for the show’s summer edition, filmed in Mallorca, Spain.

Silke Blömer, spokeswoman at German TV station ZDF, told People that they have been in contact with Prince Michael’s team and confirmed that the trip was canceled.

“Under these circumstances, we perfectly understand that Prince Michael prefers to stay close to his family,” she said. “We wish Paris the strength and the power to recover soon.”
