Mayoral rivals Christine Quinn and Bill de Blasio have been working hard to shore up celebrity support with the help of Cynthia Nixon and Cheyenne Jackson. “Sex and the City” star Nixon and her wife, Christine Marinoni, have been publicly showing support for de Blasio. And Sarah Jessica Parker, Susan Sarandon, Russell Simmons, Alec Baldwin and Alan Cumming have all decided to side with camp Nixon. Meanwhile, we’re told, “30 Rock” star Jackson has been reaching out for Quinn. Rufus Wainwright, Tim Gunn and Harvey Fierstein have also backed Quinn, and we’re told Neil Patrick Harris and Jane Lynch are expected to endorse her this week. A source told us, “Cynthia is a fierce advocate for de Blasio, and Cheyenne is firmly in the Christine Quinn camp. Cynthia and Cheyenne are friends and teamed up on marriage equality two years ago, but they are now duking it out for their candidates.”
