Mayor Bloomberg would only pose for photos with a preapproved list of power players at El Museo del Barrio’s glamorous gala Thursday night at Cipriani 42nd Street. While his team insisted it was for “security reasons and time constraints,” some guests mused that “he probably didn’t want to get asked about Bloomberg LP reporters spying on clients through their terminals.” The mayor posed with Itaú Unibanco’s Ricardo Villela Marino, Yaz Hernández plus a few others, and was whisked out the door quicker than Wall Street banks can shut down their terminal chat rooms. The gala honored actor Raúl Esparza, Ramiro Ortiz Mayorga and Marino. More than 600 guests including Narciso Rodriguez, Alexandra Lebenthal
and the Kennedy Center’s Michael Kaiser danced the night away. There was drama when top New York civil-rights lawyer Michael Kennedy fainted and was treated by paramedics before he returned to his table, but later decided to go to the hospital. We’re told he was treated for dehydration but was back in the office Friday.
