Painter Richard Phillips, whose subjects have included Lindsay Lohan, served as “music curator” of the Dallas Arts Week benefit MTV RE:DEFINE on Friday.

Phillips brought with him the Brooklyn duo Starred, fronted by art and fashion world “It girl” Liza Thorn, to play a gig at Dallas Contemporary gallery to benefit MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation.

Thorn is rumored to be Saint Laurent designer and artist Hedi Slimane’s muse.

Phillips also booked the band Black Bananas.

Also at the benefit, Paddle8’s Alexander Gilkes auctioned off work by Damien Hirst and other artists to guests, including Jerry Hall, Eddie Borgo and Banksy dealer Steve Lazarides, raising an impressive $2 million.
