Hip hotelier Richard Born and his wife Deborah are making a big move — although it’s only one block.
Born, who has 25 hotels, including the Maritime, the Bowery and the Greenwich Hotel, where he is partners with Robert De Niro, just bought the eighth-floor apartment at 1020 Fifth Ave. He paid $18 million for the place, which formerly belonged to Mona Ackerman, the daughter of Meshulam Riklis and one-time stepdaughter of Pia Zadora.
The nine-room pad, once featured on the cover of Architectural Digest, features a 20-by-40-foot living room with an 18-foot ceiling overlooking Central Park. As the brokers like to say: Perfect for entertaining.
After a year of renovations, the Borns will move from their current apartment at 1010 Fifth, a block south.
