California denies wasting 356K gallons of water for Gaga video

She may waste lots of sequins and mascara and nylon wigs, but Lady Gaga did not squander 356,000 gallons of water during the worst drought in California history.

Gaga filmed the video for “G.U.Y.” at the historic Neptune Pool at the Hearst Castle in San Simeon. Radar reported the pool was filled with chlorinated water, which was later wasted because it couldn’t be used for irrigating the state park’s exquisite gardens.

“Epic bulls–t!” was how Gov. Jerry Brown’s spokesman Richard Stapler characterized the story.

“Not a drop was wasted,” Jay McInerney, whose wife Anne Hearst helped organize the shoot, told me.

“The pool was about two-thirds full, so the Hearst Family donated water from the reservoir on its ranch to top it off,” McInerney said.

“The water was not chlorinated, and it was used for irrigation.”

Gaga, who donated $250,000 to the state, consulted with park officials every step of the way.

“The false story seems to be bouncing around the world and it’s just not right,” McInerney said. “It’s really pissing us off.”
