Socialites outraged that Kipton Cronkite married Laurence Kaiser weeks after his breakup with student

Socialites are reeling over art dealer Kipton Cronkite‘s sudden marriage to 69-year-old real-estate broker Laurence Kaiser. A source said Cronkite, 39, was still living with a 22-year-old student three weeks before the Greenwich wedding. Reps say the two split on Oct. 22 but were photographed together on Oct. 28 at an El Museo del Barrio party. “This sounds like a spur-of-the-moment elopement,” a source said. “There’s no way they could have been dating.” Society beauty Emma Snowdon-Jones jokingly wrote on Facebook: “Wow! Kipton Kronkhite (note real name) finally found the millionaire he can dance to death on his wedding night. He must be laughing all the way to the bank.” Cronkite, founder of KiptonART, actually changed his name from Cronkhite. He fell on hard times after he was fired from Bank of America last year. He responded, “My relationship with [the student] ended amicably . . . I hope one day to introduce him to Larry.” Kaiser told us, “I am nobody’s fool, Kipton and I are in a real relationship and everyone should stop gossiping.”
