Only the Queen of Soul can sing her way out of a parking ticket. Aretha Franklin soothed a traffic cop about to ticket one of her cars at Neely’s Barbecue Parlor on the Upper East Side Monday night. While at dinner with a group of 10, Franklin spotted the meter maid, who recognized her and instead handed the star an envelope to sign. Additionally, Neely’s owners Pat and Gina Neely gave Franklin one of their signed cookbooks, but she already had a copy and signed it to give back to them as a thank you.
