Kirstie to pen the joy of 60

Dancing cougar Kirstie Alley is in talks to ink a book deal with Simon & Schuster’s Atria imprint to write about being fabulous at 60. A source said the book, due out July 2012, will chronicle her life as she lives up to the mantra “60 is the new 30.” “Dancing With the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba praised Alley for being “the new poster child for life as it should be lived at 60.” Alley dropped 30 pounds on the show and has continued to slim down further. The weight loss appears to have given her a new lease of life: partying at clubs including P.H.D and cozying up to her 31-year-old dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who has since flown to his native Ukraine, as we reported last week. Alley’s first book, “How to Lose Your Ass and Regain Your Life,” from Rodale in 2005, didn’t make a splash. It was ranked No. 845,001 on Amazon.com’s list. Her agent, Rebecca Gradinger, said, “We are in talks with Atria for a book by Kirstie Alley, but we have not signed any papers yet.”
