Former Lt. Gov. Richard Ravitch, just appointed to a gubernatorial task force to find a replacement for MTA boss Jay Walder, says the job is so unappealing, he wouldn’t take it himself. “There’s no way in hell that I would ever consider doing that [job] again,” Ravitch said when asked if he would. Ravitch, who headed the agency in the early ’80s, is sad to see Walder go: “I thought he was doing a good job and I think he’s talented. But I understand.” Walder is nearly tripling his $350,000 salary to run the Hong Kong subways.
