Producer and recording artist Rico Love may have just signed a lucrative deal with Interscope, but he kept his 31st birthday party in Miami more low-key than last year. Love — who’s produced hits for Usher and Fergie — recalled at Cafeina Wynwood Lounge how a year ago, Roberto Cavalli and Saks put on a fashion show for his 30th, hosted by Diddy. Love half-jokingly explained, “It can’t just be all about poppin’ bottles and diamond chains and acting stupid.” This year, De La Soul’s Maseo DJ’ed the bash, and guests grooved near an art exhibition Love helped curate. Amaris Jones created a special menu, including gourmet Philly steaks, jerk chicken, hot dogs and crispy snapper for guests including D-Nice.
