Casey Kasem ordeal is ‘sickening,’ says daughter

As Casey Kasem’s health deteriorates, his daughter grows more suspicious of how he’s being treated.

“I feel so horrible for my father,” Kerri Kasem told People in a new interview. “This is sickening.”

Casey, 82, suffers from a form of dementia called Lewy Body Disease and after he was reported missing from a Santa Monica care facility on May 7, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel S. Murphy ordered an investigation into his whereabouts. Three days later, Casey was located in Washington state. Judge Murphy then tasked Kerri with determining if the “American Top 40” host was receiving appropriate care.

Kerri claims that during the time Casey was missing, his wife of 34 years, Jean, moved him to the Pacific Northwest (where he’d eventually be found by location authorities with Jean and “family friends”).

“This poor man was moved in the middle of the night,” Kerri explained. “This is no vacation. This is a man who has a feeding tube, hooked up to an IV and has dementia. This is not a man who needs to be in unfamiliar surroundings.”

Kerri also worries that Jean may move her father out of the country. “It happens to be one ferry boat away from Canada,” she said.
