Piers Morgan‘s time at CNN may be over, but that doesn’t mean Larry King‘s ready to lay off.

The 80-year-old television personality continued his feud with his British replacement, 49, in an interview with Howard Stern on Wednesday, reports the Daily Caller.

“The best definition of mixed emotions: Your mother-in-law goes over the cliff in your new car,” the former “Larry King Live” host said. “The mix was I thought they made a mistake in the Piers hire. I thought it was a mistake, one, to hire a Britisher in primetime and, two, I thought that he made himself too much part of the show.”

“Too much ‘I,’” King added. “I always said, if you turn on an interview show on television, 95 percent of the time you should see the guest. If 95 percent of the time you see the host, there’s something wrong with that.”

In late February, Morgan announced that he would be stepping down from his primetime slot on the news network, saying his outsider view of America had proven more polarizing than expected. The show was yanked from the air a little over a month later on March 28.

After King’s interview, Morgan — never one to remain quiet — came out swinging, going right after his old nemesis in a flurry of tweets.

When “Piers Morgan Live” was canceled, King said he’d be open to returning to CNN, but told Stern he had not been contacted by the network since.
