Everyone knew L’Wren Scott’s troubles, but didn’t offer to help

The L’Wren consensus from those close and verbose:

Professionally, her fashions were not Armani, Chanel, Oscar or Carolina. Personally, this rear end of Mick’s chorus line was not piercing his steel ring of daughters. Financially, she was a drain. Romantically, he was drained. As Mick Jagger’s go-to, she couldn’t survive in that rarefied air.

Savvy financially, Mick knows where every farthing of Rolling Stones money goes. He had to know her business was $2.1 mil in the hole by 2009; 2010 it was $3.6; in 2012 — $5.89 million; this year over $7 million.

He had expertise and wherewithal to help. Even if only to advise that her cost-benefit ratio was not favorable so, as have others, she should stop designing.

Then the question was, and do what? She wasn’t 22. Couldn’t take a startup job. She wasn’t anonymous. Couldn’t take a simple job. Her world was VIP/celebrity. Couldn’t retire into marriage. He wasn’t offering.

Came his Australian tour. He was wrapped up in it. He didn’t insist she accompany him.

Her stylist friends, fashion friends, p.r. friends, critic friends all say they knew she was hemorrhaging financially. Nobody helped. She saw only one way out.

Mandela honored

Major League Baseball’s traditional yearly event is Jackie Robinson Day. With Jackie’s widow and daughter present, preceding April 15’s 7 p.m. game Yankee Stadium specially honors Nelson Mandela.

His team history began with Mayor David Dinkins telling George Steinbrenner South Africa’s famous visitor wished to see a Yankee game. He came. He saw. He wore a NYY cap. Kept wearing it. Wherever he went, he said he’s a New York Yankee fan.

This April 15, with grandchildren flown in to witness it, Grandpa joins popes, a 9/11 commemoration and team greats as his plaque is unveiled at their Monument Park.

Odds & ends

To catch G. Clooney this week, you just had to follow crews and paps lined up, cameras poised on the Carlyle’s Mad Ave. door. They got him . . . Emmy Rossum: “I decided to come to Aaron Paul’s screening to meet him. I’m a ‘Breaking Bad’ fan. Nice to have friends and meet people you admire.”

Dr. Oz in power struggle

ABC-TV techies mumble Dr. Oz’s show could zap “The View” while it’s on air. “The View” pulls 500 amps. Oz’s neighboring show sucks 1,200, too much. At last week’s conference call, they wanted it lowered 30 percent. Harpo execs won’t budge.

There’ve been power issues. Taping together, they’re close to maximum power. At one point a loose bolt burned out.

One exec suggested drawing from other than Oz since they can’t relight a whole studio in the middle of taping season. Another said “The View’s” cyclorama set doesn’t require that much lighting.

One of those involved told them: “You’re operating with great risk right now.”

Wymore is gone

Errol Flynn’s actress widow, Patrice Wymore, 87, whom old-timers may remember from Frank Sinatra’s “Ocean’s 11”, passed away Saturday in her Port Antonio, Jamaica, home. All peaceful. Grandson Luke at her bedside. A rainbow over her 400-acre ranch. She’ll be laid to rest in California, next to Flynn.

Ugh, Vogue

Let’s all spray Clorox over Vogue’s Kim and Kanye kover. It stinKs. After his foul mouth and her sex tape, they decorate the fashionista’s bible. Hiding behind dark glasses, the editor who once stuck Michelle on the front but still blew a coveted ambassador’s job barfs she wants to play current, be in on what’s happening. Next month, look for a color photo of Whitey Bulger in chiffon.

Designer, head-to-toe in couture, en route to her own birthday luncheon. Love of her life, with her everywhere, the five-pound fluff of orange hair Pomeranian, age 16, on her lap in the car. Two blocks away, the dog peed all over her.

Only in New York, kids, only in New York.
