Out Hotel developer arrested after car crash in the Hamptons

Ian Simpson Reisner, a developer of the trendy Out NYC hotel in Hell’s Kitchen, was arrested Sunday in East Hampton for allegedly fleeing the scene of an accident and was charged with DWAI.

According to the East Hampton Star, Reisner, 45, sideswiped a parked car at 11 a.m. and was found by officers to be “unsteady and slurring his speech.”

The hotelier failed the roadside sobriety test and blew a .06, too low for a charge of driving while intoxicated, but enough to be charged with driving while ability-impaired.

Reisner was held for 20 hours and released on $500 bail.

A source says Reisner had taken Ambien, was only going about 12 miles per hour when he hit the other car and pulled over in the next parking lot.

“Ian did not leave the scene of the accident and was there when the police arrived,” Reisner’s lawyer David Smith tells us. “His blood alcohol level shows he was not intoxicated, and the impairment charge is based on a prescription sleep aid. He has pleaded not guilty, and we are expecting a favorable resolution.”

He’s due in court on June 19.
