Joan Crawford once invited Aaron Spelling to watch her get dressed

Candy Spelling reveals in her new memoir that her late husband, producing legend Aaron Spelling, once worked with George Lucas on a planned project to star Michael Jackson.

“It was an idea based on the premise of the Pied Piper,” Candy writes in the book, out Tuesday from Wiley. “Marvin Davis, who owned 20th Century Fox Studios, and George Lucas were also involved.”

But the idea never got off the ground. Spelling also reveals details of hosting Prince Charles for dinner, and the time screen legend Joan Crawford “invited Aaron to her bedroom to watch her get dressed,” during a business meeting.

Spelling was signing her tome Monday night at Barnes & Noble on East 86th Street and will appear at its Paramus, NJ, store on Tuesday.
