Kathy Griffin is bringing her acerbic wit to Broadway. In a show ambitiously titled “Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony,” the comic will play eight nights at the Belasco starting March 11. She told us, “I must warn the Big White Way that there is going to be some bad language. The kids can see ‘The Lion King’ and mommy and daddy can see dirty Kathy. Even on Broadway I don’t feel like I’ve done my job until I get a walkout.” Joking about fellow comedienne Chelsea Handler‘s public fling with hotelier Andre Balazs, Griffin said, “I want to have an affair in New York. I have a thing for Michael Bloomberg. I like smart guys. Yes, I’ll be having an affair with Bloomberg, but I suggest you don’t call his office to confirm.” And if she thinks she’ll get back-up from her pal and New Year’s Eve co-host Anderson Cooper, “He’ll be at the show. But, at the end of it, he’ll probably be wishing he was back in Egypt.”
