TV insiders are dubbing CBS News executive vice president Paul Friedman “the biggest loser” in this week’s shakeup. Formerly second-in-command, Friedman dropped a peg when Les Moonves tapped “60 Minutes” executive producer Jeff Fager as CBS News chairman and Bloomberg TV boss David Rhodes as president. Some say Friedman, nicknamed by some the “Prince of Darkness,” was passed over for the plum positions because of his management style — he once flew business-class to London to lay off a cameraman who was dying of cancer. Friedman said in a statement, “At this stage in my life I have no interest in taking on the burdens of being president of a news division. I am delighted for Jeff and David.”
