Pamela Anderson cast as the Virgin Mary

TORONTO — Former Playboy Playmate Pamela Anderson has been cast to play the Virgin Mary in a Canadian comedy special, the CTV network Monday.

Anderson will play the mother of Christ in “A Russell Peters Christmas” special to air December 1, with funnyman Peters filling the role of her Biblical husband, Joseph.

“Peters puts his own irreverent twist on the Christmas special,” a statement from the Canadian network said about the event, that will also feature a performance by Canadian crooner Michael Buble and comedian Job Lovitz.

Anderson, 44, was selected as Playmate of the Month for the men’s magazine in February 1990.

The “Baywatch” star has also appeared in two leaked sex tapes — the first with former husband Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee and the second with Poison frontman Bret Michaels.

The buxom blonde is also an avid animal rights activist and an active spokeswoman for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
