Kim Kardashian is resolving to become a “new me” in the New Year and adds that, despite her failed marriage to Kris Humphries, she will “believe in love, always.”
Kardashian stepped out on a red carpet for the first time in weeks last night to attend the opening of Kardashian Khaos boutique at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. The reality TV star smiled big as she posed for photos in a leopard print shirt dress and espadrille sandals.

Judging from her comments at the event, some of her first words to the press since filing for divorce from Humphries on Oct. 31, she said that she has high hopes for the new year.
“I’m really thinking that 2011 was a lot of learning lessons,” Kim told Us Weekly magazine. “2012, I’m just excited for the New Year and the new me.”
Kardashian certainly had a roller coaster of a year. In January, she began dating NBA star Humphries. By May, the two were engaged. They tied the knot in a lavish ceremony, documented in a four-hour television special called “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding,” in August. But just weeks after the special aired, Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries, citing irreconcilable differences. Humphries has since counter filed, seeking an annulment.

Kardashian and Humphries’ rocky marriage was captured by cameras for “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,” currently airing on E!. The show reveals heavy marital discord on big issues such as where to settle, when to have kids and the level of closeness to pursue with the rest of the Kardashian clan. In some moments in the series, Kardashian and Humphries even get physical with each other, Kardashian punching Humphries in the arm after he accidentally stepped on his toe.
But still, the experience has not soured Kardashian on romance, she claims.
“I believe in love…always,” she said.
That said, she is not ready for a new relationship just yet.
“I’m not looking,” she explained.
