Rocker Nick Cave showed off his performance-art project during the cocktail hour at a black-tie dinner in Miami Wednesday. The bizarre “Soundsuits” involves dancers wearing costumes made from materials including pot holders, spinning tops, sequins and thrift-store sweaters. The fete for 400 went down in Hanger 102 at Opa-Locka Executive Airport, which curator Neville Wakefield transformed into an “enchanted forest” and hall of mirrors. Daniel Boulud did the food, Van Cleef & Arpels showed off its “Bals de Légende” jewelry collection and LA artist Vanessa Beecroft showed off one of her tableaux vivants (a “silent and motionless group of people arranged to represent a scene or incident”).
