Joe Giudice indicted for allegedly obtaining forged license

Reality TV husband Joe Giudice was indicted yesterday by a grand jury for fraudulently obtaining a driver’s license, reports say.

Giudice, the husband of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” spitfire Teresa Giudice, is accused of impersonating his brother, Pietro Giudice, and using false documentation to obtain a New Jersey driver’s license, reports Radar Online. The charges could garner Giudice up to 11 years in prison.

According to Radar, Giudice allegedly walked into a New Jersey DMV in 2010 with his brother’s marriage and birth certificates and walked out with a license bearing his brother’s info, but his photo. This was presumably done because Giudice’s actual driver’s license was suspended after a DUI conviction earlier that year.

The scheme was discovered when Pietro Giudice was pulled over last March in a routine traffic stop. When officers ran Pietro’s license, they uncovered his brother’s ruse. Shortly after, Joe was arrested and spent six hours in jail before his family bailed him out. After being released from jail, he was driven to the Poconos, to join his wife for a book signing.

This is not the first legal drama for Giudice. In addition to filing for bankruptcy, Giudice and his wife were threatened with a lawsuit after allegedly getting in a bar brawl in the Dominican Republic in June.

And when Giudice was originally picked up for the DUI that led to this newest chain of events, according to E! News, it was discovered that he had several warrants outstanding for city ordinance violations.
