‘Teen Mom’ star Amber Portwood jailed in Indiana

ANDERSON, Ind. — Amber Portwood, one of the stars of MTV’s reality series “Teen Mom,” was jailed Monday after an Indiana judge issued a warrant for her arrest.

It was not immediately known why the warrant was issued. Entertainment website TMZ said it was unclear whether it was related to Portwood’s recent alleged probation violations, which include a restaurant brawl, the failure to get her GED and not taking anger management classes.

She is on probation after being convicted of domestic battery for hitting her ex-fiancé Gary Shirley. Her two-year jail sentence was suspended on the condition that she adhere to the terms of her probation.

Portwood, 21, is being held at Madison County Jail in Anderson, Ind. TMZ said she is expected to be in custody through the holidays.

She is due in court Jan. 13 for a probation hearing.
