Zooey Deschanel reveals that she was “terrified” of her older sister, Emily Deschanel of the show “Bones,” because she was older and “already evil.”
“Emily’s four years older, which is a very vulnerable amount of years. Because when I was 3, she was 7, and she was already evil,” Zooey joked on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” this week. “She basically just used the plot of ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’ to terrify me.”
Zooey revealed that Emily gave “a very over-the-top performance” to convince her that the sci-fi film was real.
Zooey explained, “The Neptunians had killed my real sister and replaced her with a facsimile who looked just like her, talked just like her, but when my parents weren’t in the room, made crazy faces at me and talked like Vickie from ‘Small Wonder.’ I was terrified … She would make me cry and then my dad would come in and try to mediate, and then she would laugh.”
Today, however, the sisters are much closer — especially now that Zooey has joined her sister on the small screen with her TV show “New Girl.”
“We shoot on the same lot, so I’ll stop by her trailer,” said Zooey.
