SKIER Lindsey Vonn says she was shocked by how fast the rumors spread about her dating new Jets star Tim Tebow.
The Olympic gold medalist, who was linked with Tebow in December after she announced she was splitting with her husband Thomas Vonn after four years of marriage, insists she is just friends with Tebow – who she calls “Timmy” – and his brother Robby.
Vonn laughs off rumors linking her to Tebow in an Access Hollywood interview airing Thursday. When asked by host Kit Hoover, “Is it hard being single now, because you’re so pretty and out there? You did one Tebow move and next thing you’re married with a baby with him.” Vonn replied, “Who knew it could go that fast?”
Lindsey explained that her post-race Tebowing in December had been approved ahead of time by the athlete’s family. “I asked his brother, I got permission. Everyone else just does Tebowing, I actually had permission from family,” she explained.
She joked, “[Robby] and I were both very surprised that I married [Tim] and had five kids. I didn’t know that could happen so fast.”
“I talk to Robby all the time and we’re like, ‘This is really weird. Just tell Timmy I’m sorry and I don’t know what’s going on.”
She added she’ll be supporting the Jets now Tebow is on board, joking: “Gotta support the husband .”
