Cruise may only be 17, but he’s been signed by Black Eyed Peas manager William Derella, who has helped Tom Cruise’s DJ son line up a European tour starting late next month. Derella is famed for helping to land the Peas numerous lucrative sponsorship deals, making millions for the band. Sources tell us Derella plans to help mold Cruise into a world-class DJ and that the teen may be getting some extra help from his famous dad, who has offered the use of his Gulfstream IV private jet for some legs of the tour. Showing off his shaved head and mohawk, Cruise demonstrated his DJ skills Tuesday during an American Eagle “Live Your Life” campaign event in Times Square. He was heard saying, “When I am just chilling in my room, I’ll listen to A Tribe Called Quest, a lot of old-school stuff. Now, for something like this, I listen to a lot of remixes, a lot of EDM stuff, mash-ups.” Cruise kicked off his set with Coldplay but had staffers scrambling to fix a glitch when the sound cut out for five seconds.
