Bourdain’s goose is cooked

A cast of chefs who’ve endured outspoken Anthony Bourdain’s tongue-lashings, including much-maligned Guy Fieri, exacted their revenge at a charity roast of the Travel Channel host Thursday. “Anthony, I gotta ask a question,” said Fieri at the New York City Wine & Food Festival event. “Why do you hate me so much? Is it because you went to a fancy culinary school and I didn’t? I hear you’re the only one in class who did most of his cooking with a spoon and a Bic lighter.” (Bourdain catalogued his epic former drug habit in his memoir “Kitchen Confidential.”) But Bourdain later dinged Fieri’s savagely reviewed Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar, saying he’s “the guy who just dropped a 500-seat deuce into Times Square. Who put up the money for this?” He then asked, “What are you, 48? 49? Are you pushing 50? Which begs the question: When will you start to de-douche?” Also at the Pier 60 event were Bobby Flay, Rachael Ray and Mario Batali, of whom Gilbert Gottfried quipped, “Batali is so fat when he eats an apple, people think it’s a barbecue.”
