‘August: Osage County’ to be screened for Broadway stars

Guests including Neil Patrick Harris, Alan Cumming, Stephen Daldry, Joel Grey and Rosemary Harris are expected at the Paris Theatre Monday for two special screenings for the Broadway community of “August: Osage County.”

The Julia Roberts-Meryl Streep film began as Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize- and Tony-winning play.

“There was only going to be one screening at 6 p.m.,” said an insider, “but they added a second matinee screening at 2 p.m. for all the current Broadway casts that have shows Monday night because of the Christmas Week schedule.”

Also expected among the 1,000 invited to the showing are actors from “Pippin,” “Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella” and other current productions. The movie’s producers, Jean Doumanian and Harvey Weinstein, were also behind its Broadway version, which ran from 2007 to 2009.
