Dick Van Dyke suffering from suspected neurological disorder

Dick Van Dyke canceled a New York appearance next week due to fatigue and lack of sleep stemming from a suspected neurological disorder, Page Six has confirmed.

The beloved “Mary Poppins” actor was scheduled to attend an event at the 92nd Street Y on April 26 to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award for Bettering Humanity through Comedy.

His rep told ET Online, “[Dick is being treated from] fatigue and lack of sleep resulting from symptoms of a yet-to-be diagnosed neurological disorder.”

“Due to a medical condition, Mr. Van Dyke is unable to travel to New York for the program,” a rep from 92nd Street Y said in a statement. The 87-year-old screen legend will reportedly be staying close to his Malibu, California home for the time being.

Van Dyke has reached out to his fans for advice. He tweeted: “My head bangs every time I lay down. I’ve had every test come back that I’m perfectly healthy. Anybody got any ideas?”

He also revealed, “It has been going on for 7 years. I’ve had every test you can think of (CAT Scan, Mri, Spinal tap etc)”.

A fan suggested he book an appointment with a specialist chiropractor, but Van Dyke replied, “I don’t believe in them.”

Van Dyke married his makeup artist, 40-year-old Arlene Silver, this March.
