Home is where the heart is, except for Shailene Woodley.

“I was only home for 15 days last year and I got home and I was like, ‘I don’t want to be alone. I want to be with my friends and family,'” the “Divergent” actress said during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Thursday. “So, I got rid of everything just so I could have one suitcase that would be easy to transport between houses and just kind of couch surf for a few months.”

Besides making it easy to move around, Woodley’s minimalist lifestyle has also left her with less chores to worry about.

“But it’s so refreshing and it takes so much stress away when you’re like, ‘Ugh, I only have one pair of jeans to wash.’ It’s so nice,” she continued.

Woodley, 22, did acknowledge that there was a slight drawback to living out of a suitcase, but she didn’t seem all that bothered by it. “I figure, if I only own a few things, and it got lost, then I’d have nothing,” she joked.

Her next movie, the big screen adaptation of John Green’s YA phenomenon “The Fault in Our Stars,” hits theaters on June 6.
