Jesse Eisenberg’s latest project sparks parking backlash

We can only imagine what Kramer would have done.

On the same block where “Seinfeld” was set, 81st between Columbus and Amsterdam, a new indie film starring Jesse Eisenberg and Jason Segel drove neighbors around the bend this week.

“It’s based on a book by David Lipsky and called ‘End of the Tour.’ But this became the end of the block,” exclaimed a spy.

“Jesse was shooting a scene in a cab that gets stopped by a cop car. For 20 hours, they had oversized vans and trucks taking up all the parking spots, and cars were getting towed. People get hysterical about parking here . . . People sit for hours waiting for spots.”

Residents rebelled by “leaning out the windows and just yelling, ‘Boooo!’ ”

Producer David Kanter commented in an email: “Other than that the producers… are grateful for the cooperation and interest of the good people of Manhattan, and apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused during  our one day shoot in NYC, there’s not much of story here. We’re very happy to have wrapped the movie and look forward to sharing it with the world.”

The film follows a magazine writer covering late author David Foster Wallace on a book tour.
