Mick Jagger returns to the US to plan L’Wren’s funeral

Grieving Mick Jagger has landed in Los Angeles to make arrangements for L’Wren Scott‘s funeral.

A rep for the Rolling Stones rocker confirmed he returned to the US today and is being supported by his family following Scott’s suicide.

The Stones canceled their tour of Australia and New Zealand after Scott was found hanged at her Manhattan apartment on Monday.

Jagger’s spokeswoman said in a statement, “Mick Jagger has arrived in Los Angeles in order to be with members of his family. He will join his daughter Karis, an LA resident, and daughters Elizabeth & Georgia May who are also with him for support.

“Later today Jade Jagger and son James will also join him whilst he makes arrangements for L’Wren Scott’s funeral.

“Privacy for him and his family during this very difficult time is requested.”

Scott’s body has been taken to the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home on the Upper East Side. Arrangements for viewing hours and a funeral have not yet been announced.

Law-enforcement sources revealed that the always impeccably dressed Scott died wearing sneakers.

Heartbroken Jagger, 70, had initially been holed up at the Hyatt Regency in Perth, Australia, after learning of Scott’s death.

It is believed he flew out separately from the rest of his band members, who were seen boarding their private 747 at Perth Airport, headed first to Abu Dhabi.

Stones drummer Charlie Watts had said Jagger had been left dazed and ill following Scott’s suicide. He said, “He’s not really well. He’s not really here. It was such a shock.”

Jagger’s reps have denied a split.

Jagger, who had been dating Scott since 2001, posted a statement on his Web site following her death: “I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.

“She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her.”
